What is your investment focus?

Spider invests in technology driven, enterprise cloud software companies. The underlying theme are mission driven founders who are building transformative companies whose products aim to deliver meaningful productivity gains for an enterprise.

Where do you invest?

While we have proprietary access to great founders in Silicon Valley, we also invest in other emerging technology hubs in the U.S., Canada and Israel. Spider’s founder is also a San Francisco native, and has spent his entire career working in Silicon Valley with technology companies.

Do you reserve for follow on rounds?

Yes. The majority of the fund is reserved to support our investments in later stage rounds.

Which VC firms do you co-invest with?

Spider’s founder has partnered with the majority of seed funds and early-stage funds in the Valley and has working relationships with GPs at each of the top funds. We also have relationships with leading funds in Europe and Asia who we partner with for later-stage financing rounds in conjunction with global expansion.

What is your typical investment amount?

Our initial check size is typically $500,000.

Who are your LPs?

We are backed by a global LP base comprised of leading institutional investors, family offices, and prominent operating executives spanning finance and technology.

Do you lead seed rounds and take board seats?

Yes.

Where do you add the most value?

The Spider platform is comprised of a dozen enterprise operators who have founded startups, grown startups from idea to the first several million in revenue, and scaled startups to 10s and 100s of millions in revenue. We have built products, scaled teams, sold software, consummated partnerships, raised capital, and bought and sold companies. Spider’s founder has also directly invested in nearly 100 startups and advised on 100s of M&A and corporate finance transactions. We apply our operating and investing experience, along with our relationships, to help startups avoid many of the mistakes we have made, or navigate landmines we have seen. If we cannot provide meaningful insight or an immediate connection, we are typically only one degree away from someone who can. This translates into advice and relevant connections at all inflection points in a company’s lifecycle.

Where are your offices?

We are based in downtown San Francisco.
